\"Magden Ährenfeld\", 1979 Dimensions: 37W × 34.5H cm
A beautiful watercolor landscape, signed and dated in the lower left H. Wullschleger / 89 (almost certainly 1979).
The work depicts a wide Aargau hill with golden and green wheat fields in the foreground, scattered trees, a country road, and, in the background, a small village with red rooftops. Soft hills, a distant chimney or tower, and a light sky characteristic of autumn or late-summer days in German-speaking Switzerland are clearly recognizable. The handwritten title on the back of the frame indicates \"Magden Ährenfeld\" (Magden cornfield), a location in Aargau near Brugg, the artist\'s birthplace.
Hans Wullschleger (Brugg 1913 – Zurich 1987) was a Swiss painter, draftsman, and graphic artist. Trained at the Zurich School of Applied Arts (Kunstgewerbeschule) and in Paris (where he also studied with Fernand Léger), he balanced applied graphic design with independent artistic work. His pieces, primarily regional landscape watercolors and lithographs, circulate mainly within the Swiss art market. The watercolor is mounted in a modern Ralux frame (cord system) with external dimensions of approximately 35 × 29 cm. Good overall condition, with colors still fresh.
An authentic work by a regional Aargau artist, ideal for those who love traditional Swiss landscapes and mid-to-late 20th-century watercolor painting.
