A rare opportunity to own a matched pair of George Gott G30U tube power amplifiers. If you\'re familiar with these amps, you know this is one of the most desirable versions, featuring the copper-clad chassis and miniature tube design that many enthusiasts consider the best-built and best-sounding generation.

I\'ve owned multiple G30U amplifiers over the years, and these have been thoughtfully upgraded for reliability while preserving their original character. There is no hum or noise. In my opinion, a better sounding amplifier could not be purchased for this price.

One amplifier has had its original power transformer replaced. This was done because the original transformer had failed—a well-known weak point on these amplifiers.

The replacement transformer was selected to meet the original operating specifications while providing improved long-term reliability. This is a practical reliability upgrade rather than a performance compromise. The second amplifier retains its original power transformer.

To improve longevity and reduce stress on the power supply, the following upgrades have been performed:

• CL-140 inrush current limiting thermistor installed to reduce startup current

• B- connection fused to ground for additional protection

• Running a 5V4 rectifier to reduce power supply stress

• Matched GE 6L6GC output tubes (500V rated) for reliable operation

Note: One thermistor was used, with a jumper on the second amplifier terminal strip.

• Rectifier: 5V4

Both amplifiers have been well cared for and are in excellent vintage condition. They represent an increasingly hard-to-find pair of George Gott G30U amplifiers and are ideal for the serious tube audio enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a unique vintage amplifier with exceptional build quality and classic tube sound.
