These absolutely incredible early 1900\'s antique light fixtures are fresh from a local estate. They are large and heavy cast brass or bronze and feature cheerful but mysterious male faces, cowled and surrounded by bold, flowing abstract floral shapes. A very interesting and unusual design, sort of halfway between the women with flowing hair that are common in Art Nouveau artwork and the \"monk\'s head\" motifs seen on some early Arts & Crafts and Gothic style light fixtures. As you can see, these fixtures havedeveloped a beautiful rich patina and some areas of greenish verdigris. They havea fair amount of surface wear including spotting, staining, and variation to the surface color, but overall are in good shape for their age. They work great and look to have been rewired relatively recently, with new socket liners and mounting hardware. I think the fixtures were probably also given a new coat of lacquer, which helps protect the surface and brings out the beauty of the metal. These sconces each measure a total of about 16\" tall by 14\" wide by 9\" deeptake standard E26 base bulbs (not included). As you can see, they have a set of beautiful unsigned Steuben style iridescent Aurene shades. Lovely hand-tooled blown art glass with some natural variation to the shape and color. They are in good shape as well with light surface wear including some minor scuffing & scratching etc. as well as some minor fitter edge roughness, but no cracks or other significant damage. The shipping charge includes postage to send the shades in a separate package from the fixtures, in order to protect the glass as much as possible. Please see all photos. Shipped with great care.
