A handsome pair of antique English architectural engravings depicting two historic country houses: Montacute House in Somersetshire and Corsham House in Wiltshire.
Measurements: 11 1/8" x 9 1/2"
The engravings are after the work of English architectural draughtsman and engraver John Preston Neale and originate from his celebrated series Views of the Seats of Noblemen and Gentlemen in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, published during the early 19th century. Comparable period examples date these views to approximately 1825–1830.
Both prints feature delicate later hand-coloring and are presented as a coordinating pair in slender gilt frames with deep charcoal-gray mats.
Each retains an older dealer label on the reverse stating, “Guaranteed a Genuine Antiquarian Print over 100 years old.”
Antique condition with expected age-related toning and minor wear. Frames show light surface wear consistent with age. Please review photographs for condition.
