This pair of antique 19th-century American crotal bells, commonly known as petal sleigh bells, is crafted from a copper alloy such as brass or bronze. Each bell features a unique petal design and is individually numbered—one marked No. 5 and the other No. 6. Both bells produce a rich, clear tone and are free of dents, making them excellent examples of early American horse harness bells.

Maker Information:
The \"N&S\" initials identify the historic partnership of Seth J. North and Henry Stanley, whose renowned foundry in New Britain, Connecticut, produced these highly collectible bells primarily between 1832 and 1850. Their workmanship is considered among the finest examples of early American bell making.
