For sale is a matched pair of antique hand-carved wooden gargoyle figures in griffin form. Each figure has an eagle\'s head, wings, and a lion\'s body.
Attributed to R.J. Horner, circa 1890 (Victorian era, New York maker known for heavily carved griffin and gargoyle work). There is no maker\'s mark; the attribution is based on style, so these are sold as attributed to R.J. Horner.
These are antique architectural carvings. They have been stripped and professionally restored with a dark stain finish. Sold as a pair in one lot (quantity 1 = the pair).
Please note: these are restored antiques, not new items. The photos show the actual items you will receive.
