Offered is a striking matching pair of vintage Brutalist brass wall sconces by Tom Greene for The Feldman Co., Los Angeles, California, dating to approximately the 1960s–1970s.
Each sconce retains its original The Feldman Co. / Underwriters\' Laboratories electric fixture label on the reverse.
These large-scale sculptural sconces feature Tom Greene\'s distinctive Brutalist aesthetic, with folded and formed brass panels, irregular torch-cut/pierced decoration, textured edges, and dramatic heat-patinated surfaces. Each fixture has three candle-style light arms arranged across the sculptural brass body.
The sconces have a wonderful original aged appearance with variations in the brass coloration, oxidation, darkened areas, scratches, marks, and patina consistent with vintage use. Please examine all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.
Approximate dimensions per sconce:
- Height: approximately 24\"
- Width: approximately 10\" at widest point
- Projection/depth: approximately 4–5\"
Measurements are approximate; please refer to the measurement photographs.
Condition: Vintage/pre-owned condition with age-related patina, discoloration, oxidation, surface scratches, marks and wear throughout. The candle sleeves also show considerable age and discoloration. Original wiring/components are present on the backs. Due to the age of these fixtures, the electrical components should be inspected and, if necessary, serviced by a qualified electrician prior to installation.
Bulbs are shown for display and are not guaranteed/included unless otherwise stated.
Quantity: 2 matching sconces — sold together as one pair.
An impressive and increasingly collectible pair of American Mid-Century Brutalist lighting fixtures with excellent architectural presence. Particularly desirable as a matched pair with surviving Feldman labels.
Please review all photos carefully for exact condition, construction, measurements and details.
