Description: The Independent Presbyterian Church in Savannah, Georgia, shown in a street-level view featuring its prominent white steeple, clock tower, and columned facade in the Christopher Wren style. The present building, erected in 1819, is a reproduction of the original destroyed by fire in 1889, and is reminiscent of St. Martins-in-the-field in London. The church has notable historical ties: Lowell Mason composed the hymn \"From Greenland\'s Icy Mountains\" while organist here, and Woodrow Wilson married Ellen Axson, granddaughter of the church\'s pastor, in the manse in 1885.
