The intaglio (recessed) carving features a classic acanthus leaf with a bottom scroll flourish, a prominent motif widely used in traditional woodcarving and historic architectural accents. When pressed onto firmly chilled butter, it leaves a beautiful, raised relief of the leaf design on the top surface.
