Offered here is an original physical prop produced by Google to use in videos and still imagery for their legendary 2016 April Fool's Day campaign announcing "Google Cardboard Plastic" — the world's first "Actual Reality" headset, promising 4K resolution courtesy of your own eyes.
PROVENANCE & AUTHENTICITY
This very rare piece was gifted directly by Google's communications team to a former technology journalist who extensively covered Google's virtual reality initiatives and product launches at the time. It is 100% authentic Google corporate memorabilia — not a 3D-printed replica or third-party reproduction. Given the nature of how it was distributed, examples like this are extraordinarily rare.
