A vintage Stangl American art pottery butter pat dish made in Trenton, N.J.
Pattern Name: "Tulip"
Production Date: This specific design was introduced by Stangl in 1951.
Design & Glaze: It features a vibrant yellow base glaze with distinctive reddish-brown or antiqued brown sponged detailing to accentuate the ridges of the tulip petals.
Dimensions: Approximately 4 inches long.
Usage: Butter pat, nut dish, appetizer dish, individual candy dish, trinket dish or whatever your heart desires 💖

Below is a little history about the maker for those of you who enjoy the details :
1910 Ceramic engineer Johann Martin Stangl was hired as chief ceramist, introducing innovative matte, crystalline, and luster glazes.
1924 Stangl became vice-president and president in 1926.
Stangl began producing dinnerware in Trenton, New Jersey, eventually moving all manufacturing there while keeping a famous showroom in Flemington.
1929/1955 Stangl began marking pottery with his own name in 1929, though the corporate title officially changed to the Stangl Pottery Company in 1955.
Signature Products: The company became well known for its hand-painted, casual, colorful dinnerware featuring Pennsylvania Dutch folk art motifs.
