The title block reads:
“R.K.O. Radio Pictures Inc.
Formerly R.K.O. Studios Inc.
Plan of Ranch Property”
The plan is revised through May 19, 1940 and measures approximately 36 x 15 inches.
It shows the layout of the RKO ranch property in considerable detail, including studio streets, structures, roads, property boundaries, ranch areas, corrals/stables, utility-related features, and numerous labeled backlot sections.
This is an original vintage studio-era plan print, not a modern decorative reproduction. It appears to be a period reproduction made from the studio’s original drafting/master plan rather than the original hand-drawn master itself.
RKO’s Encino Ranch was an important Hollywood movie ranch used for large-scale exterior filming and backlot production during the studio era. Plans documenting the physical layout of the property are unusual survivors and make an interesting piece of RKO, Hollywood studio, architectural, and San Fernando Valley history.
size: 36 x 15 inches.
