Item Overview
Original Spring 1973 Disneyland “The Walt Disney Story – Information” press/publicity reference booklet. Produced for the opening-era presentation of The Walt Disney Story at Disneyland's Main Street Opera House, this comb-bound booklet contains archival information on Walt Disney's life and career organized with original blue index tabs.
The attraction opened at Disneyland in April 1973 and replaced Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln for a period.
Description
Rare original Disneyland internal/publicity publication from 1973. This is a substantial comb-bound reference book rather than a standard park souvenir.
The booklet is organized with blue tabbed sections covering Walt Disney's career, achievements and legacy. Visible sections include subjects such as Walt's story, filmmaking, television, nature, animation, Imagineering, the Opera House, the Walt Disney Archives, Walt Disney biography and his role as an international ambassador, artist and impresario.
The booklet was created as a reference companion to Disneyland's The Walt Disney Story attraction. Contemporary descriptions of the attraction specifically identify five featured career areas: Walt Disney as Film Maker, TV Pioneer, Naturalist, International Ambassador, and Artist and Impresario, matching the original tabs present in this booklet.
