Rare Antique Victorian Handel Hand Painted Art Glass Golfers Tobacco Humidor Jar For Sale

For sale we have a rare complete all original antique Victorian Era P. J. Handel hand painted Golfing scene Art Glass Tobacco Humidor or Jar. This beauty is complete and all original and it's in great condition with its original hasp and collar. This Humidor is hand painted with very life like with detailed golfers on two sides of this jar. This Humidor has beautiful blended hand painted colors the just flow together and give this piece an eye catching look and presence. The hand painted golfers along with the colors and finish are all still bright and glossy throughout the entire jar. We see no loss to the golfers or their accessories. The lid is hand painted with Tobacco accented with raised enameling. The form is also very pleasing on this jar with the large hand opening knob and the corset waist style body. The base is signed with P.J. Handel Meriden CT. USA and a 86/140 production number. There is also an embossed H in the middle of the base. We date this beauty to the very late 1800s to the early 1900s. The golfers attire and accessories attest to the age of this rare example. What a great look. This example is a great survivor and it's in incredible condition for its intended use. The top and the collar are both original and secure with no issues. There are no chips, cracks or alterations. We see a bit of oxidation on the collar. There is one pin head paint skip or chip on the back side of the top. We pictured this for complete accuracy. The inside of the humidor is very clean with no issues. The overall height is approx. 7 1/4". The opening is approx.4 1/2". The top opens and closes with ease. This is a fresh to the market example in excellent complete all original condition. This Humidor or Tobacco jar will fit and accent many different collections with its size, form great look and the superior hand painted Golfing scenes.
