Rare Vintage MacKenzie-Childs King Ferry 11.5\" Flat-Rim Dinner Plate — Early VRM For Sale

Offered is a beautiful and hard-to-find MacKenzie-ChildsKing Ferry dinner plate, measuring approximately 11½ inches across.

This distinctive hand-painted plate features the whimsical KingFerry design, including its pale blue scalloped border, delicate floral andbotanical decoration, green foliage, yellow lattice center, and exposed redterracotta clay on the underside.

A Special Early MacKenzie-Childs Mark

A particularly interesting feature for collectors is the impressedsquare VRMC studio mark on the exposed terracotta base. The mark isimpressed directly into the clay rather than applied as a printed backstamp andis characteristic of early MacKenzie-Childs studio pottery.

Above the VRMC mark is an additional impressedproduction/date mark. I have photographed the underside and marks in detail sothat prospective buyers can examine them for themselves.

The combination of the flat-rim form, hand-painteddecoration, red-clay construction, and early square VRMC mark makes this anespecially appealing piece for collectors of vintage and early MacKenzie-Childspottery.
