Rare Vintage Rike’s Department Store Four Seasons Life Size Statues Set
For serious collectors of Dayton, Ohio history and vintage retail memorabilia. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to own a complete, authenticated set of four vintage \"Four Seasons\" allegorical statues sourced directly from the iconic Rike’s Department Store in downtown Dayton.Standing at a commanding, monumental life-size 7’ height, these figures (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter) were used as high-end visual merchandising displays during the golden era of downtown retail before entering a private collection.Unlike heavy stone or concrete, these figures are expertly cast from a heavy, dense, industrial-grade hard plastic polymer/fiberglass composite. This commercial-grade material allowed store decorators to install massive, dramatic displays safely, and it makes them incredibly durable today. They are perfectly suited for indoor display or year-round outdoor garden use without any risk of winter cracking.Three of the statues feature a beautifully aged faux-bronze patina, while the \"Summer\" figure features a lighter stone-wash finish with green faux-oxidation accents. This set is a phenomenal piece of local Miami Valley history, perfect for Dayton antiquarians, historic preservationists, or an upscale local business looking for a legendary statement piece.
