For sale is an exceptional, collector-tier Tibetan Tiger Rug Runner measuring 74” x 24” (approximately 6' x 2') with a luxurious 3/8” pile thickness. This is a true artisan masterwork, with a premium 144 KPSI (knots per square inch) density. While standard high-quality Tibetan rugs feature an 80 to 100 knot count, this 144 KPSI construction allows for exceptional detail and sharp pattern definition.
Rare Design & Sacred Palette: The runner features a regal, traditional motif of two tigers facing one another on a highly coveted indigo blue field. In Himalayan textile history, indigo backgrounds were historically woven for high-ranking lamas and royalty to represent spiritual depth and protection. The tigers are rendered in rich imperial yellow, tans, beige, and black.
Premium Artisanal Features and Hand-Carved Relief: Following the weaving process, master artisans meticulously trimmed the wool with curved shears along the outlines of the tiger stripes, creating a striking 3-dimensional high-relief effect.
High-Lanolin Highland Wool: Woven from premium, hand-spun highland wool. The rich natural lanolin gives the textile an incredibly soft hand, a healthy natural sheen, and built-in stain resilience.
Authentic Structure: The reverse side showcases a perfectly uniform, tight structural grid. The runner features an integrated, unbleached light beige fringe. There are no commercial backing glues, labels, or synthetic tags.
