Rare antique coat button pin Lowell MA Mass city seal 1830 Industrial Revolution:
$215.00
\"Art (skill) is the handmaid of human good\" ...Very early, very scarce (circa 1820\'s - 1840\'s) city seal logo flat button from the city of Lowell, MA (the cradle of the American Industrial Revolution). Notice the Horn of plenty sits aside the smoke streams & the steam engines (very earliest city seal variant). Evidence on the backside shows that over the years this relic went from a flat button (center dot where shank attached) to a hat or coat pin (weld marks on the outer rim). Now this piece of history belongs nowhere else than in a historical museum or high end collection! Amazingly the frontside still has plenty of silver-gilt with great detail. You will be hard pressed to even find this button in the reference books (not even in Albert\'s Historical Buttons)... see all 17photos provided... measures about 22.5mm and is ever so slightly concave in shape. Please include $4.95 domestic shipping... (Worldwide International shipping pleaseinclude $18.95 s/h). Thanks for stopping in...
