About the Book (Synopsis)
In Magician, Raymond E. Feist launched one of the most beloved and expansive universes in epic fantasy history.
To the forest on the shore of the Kingdom of the Isles, the orphan boy Pug comes to study under the master magician Kulgan. While Pug struggles with the traditional paths of magic, his childhood friend Tomas trains to become a soldier. Their peaceful, rural lives in Crydee are shattered when a mysterious shipwreck reveals the terrifying truth: alien invaders from the world of Kelewan have ripped a magical rift through the fabric of spacetime, launching a devastating invasion of Midkemia.
As the Riftwar engulfs their world, the two friends are thrust onto drastically different paths. Tomas inherits a legendary, ancient power that threatens to consume his humanity, while Pug is captured and taken through the rift to the alien world of Kelewan, where his strange, untraditional magical abilities may hold the key to saving two worlds.
