Listed is a McIntosh MAC4100 stereo receiver. This device is in excellent cosmetic condition with few blemishes or scratches (if any). This specific piece is from Arizona so is also free from any rust or corrosion.
Power output is 75 watts into 8 ohms, or 100 watts into 4 ohms.
This device is fully operational and has been fully serviced with the following work done:
- Fully recapped with Nichicon, WIMA and Epcos capacitors.
- Brand new RCA panel installed to replace poor quality originals (see photo).
- New power swtich to replace the broken original (see photo).
- New LED\'s which replaced the original incandescent bulbs.
- Cleaned and deoxidized switches.
- Bias calibration.
Two minor issues remain with this model. One is that the power level meters are not perfectly balanced and what remains is a 1DB difference between each meter (there is not an adjustment within the unit to correct this). The second is that there is a small \"hiccup\" on the volume knob that is a result of oxidation on one of the channels carbon track. Regretfully, this is a sealed ALPS pot and these are difficult to successfully disassemble and reassemble for cleaning. As such, the volume knob has been left alone as it is clearly functional otherwise.
