The Man of Steal, in the jersey he wore the year he stole 108 bases.
2005 Leaf Century Collection TIMELINE THREADS, card #TT-24 - the \'Jersey Circa 1983\' subset, where Donruss matched each swatch to a specific season rather than just naming a team. 1983 was the middle of Rickey Henderson\'s absurd Oakland run: 108 stolen bases, his third straight year over 100, on the way to a career 1,406 that nobody has come within 500 of since.
What makes this one worth looking at twice is the cut. Instead of a plain rectangle, the card carries TWO separate game-worn windows die-cut into the shape of his position letters - a green O and a green F, OUTFIELD, set into the orange postmark design. Serial numbered 17/83 on the reverse, the print run tied to the year on the front.
The back carries the full Donruss CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY: \'The enclosed piece of jersey was cut from an Authentic Jersey personally worn by Rickey Henderson in an official Major League Baseball game. The authentic Game-Worn Jersey was obtained and is guaranteed by Donruss Playoff L.P.\' MLB and MLBPA licensed, Oakland Athletics logo on both faces.
Honest condition: raw and ungraded, presents NM to the naked eye with sharp corners and clean edges; both swatch windows are intact and firmly seated with no lifting. Photographed front and back, unretouched, so you can assess centering and surface yourself before you offer.
From a private Bay Area collection. Ships in the penny sleeve and toploader it is in now, inside a bubble mailer in a box, with tracking.
