Rie Muñoz “Douglas Crab Boat” 1980 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition Print 375/500
A wonderful large-format limited edition print by celebrated Alaska artist Rie Muñoz (1921-2015), titled “Douglas Crab Boat.”
Created in 1980, this lively waterfront scene captures the activity surrounding a fresh crab harvest from the fishing boat Akimbo. Fishermen and dock workers unload enormous crabs while children, dogs, gulls, and other figures gather along the dock. Crab pots, fishing gear, and the hand-painted “Fresh Crab” sign complete the bustling coastal scene.
The combination of working waterfront life and Muñoz’s distinctive, whimsical figures makes this a particularly appealing example of her Alaska imagery.

ConditionVery good vintage condition overall. The colors remain strong and the main image presents beautifully.
There is scattered foxing/age spotting in the white left margin, primarily toward the lower-left area, with an additional isolated spot farther up the left margin. Light vertical scuff/rub marks are present near the lower-right margin and extend slightly into the extreme outer edge of the printed area. A few additional faint age/handling marks are present in the margins. No tears or major creases were observed.
