Associated with the Centre d’Art in Port-au-Prince, his work is celebrated for its vivid colors, stylized forms, and depictions of Haitian culture, folklore, and spirituality. Benoit’s paintings helped bring international recognition to Haitian Primitive art in the mid-20th century.
