For sale is a Roland Electronic Piano 09 (EP-09). Made in Japan. These were made between 1974 and 1978. 61 Keys.
I\'m a guitar player. I purchased this a few years ago to learn how to play piano and/or keyboard. I never got around to it.
I plugged it into my home PA system (I use a Fractal instead of an amp for my electric guitar). It sounds much larger when connected to a system that can produce frequencies lower than the built in speaker. I\'ve used it with headphones too.
The higher pitched keys aren\'t as loud as the 50 lower ones. I think that is a limitation of the built in speaker. 1970\'s speakers of that size weren\'t very good at making high frequencies.
Issues
Sometimes the Tone Selector buttons won\'t work temporarily. This usually affects Piano I and Harpsichord II. If I hit the button 15-20 times, it will eventually work. I haven\'t tried to use contact cleaner or attempted any repair for this issue. All other functions seem to work.
The Arpeggio Rate fader is missing its knob. I\'ve seen exact replacements for sale.
There are scratches on all sides of the unit from 50 years of use.
