This lot is for the 1954-1955 Ron Murphy card issued by Parkhurst. This is a classic piece of sports card history printed in Canada, with both English & French writing on the back. Card is officially Graded by SBG with a grade of 1, but card is in excellent shape for something released 70 years ago.
Robert Ronald \"Ron\" Murphy made his debut with the New York Rangers in 1952. He was a left winger who played a total of 889 NHL games over an 18 year career which ended in 1970. In his early years with the Rangers, he was a reliable forward, regularly contributing double-digit goals and assists. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins.
During his time with the Bruins in the lat 1960\'s, he shared a line with Phil Esposito & Ken HodgeGoals scored: 205Assists: 274Total Points: 4792 time Stanley Cup winner: (1961 Blackhawks, 1970 Bruins)
