Rooster Hen Salt Pepper Shakers Set Ceramic Chicken Pair Vintage Japan Time Worn For Sale

Wonderful old matched rooster and hen ceramic salt & pepper shaker set, both marked JAPAN on the bottoms.

The rooster is larger than the hen, as intended, with a tall sweeping tail and prominent comb. Both have coordinating white and blue-gray feather decoration with bright red and yellow accents and beautifully molded feather details.

Rooster measures approximately 5¼ inches tall; hen approximately 4¼ inches tall.

These have a decidedly time-worn appearance with plenty of age and character. The rooster has several chips and losses along the edges of his tall tail feathers, along with a larger area of surface/glaze loss on the breast and surrounding cracking/crazing. Both pieces show additional glaze and paint loss, crazing and general wear from age. Please review the close-up photos, which show these areas clearly.

Not pristine—and that\'s part of their appeal. They\'re a charming old Japan rooster-and-hen pair with a wonderfully aged look for a vintage kitchen, chicken collection or display.
