Roscoe Conkling 1888 Memorial Book New York State Senate & Assembly Proceedings For Sale

This hardcover 53-page book measuring 10\" by 7\" was published by Weed Parsons and Company of Albany N. Y. in 1889. It is the detail of a proceeding held on May 9, 1888, to honor the late NYS senator Roscoe Conkling. It contains a plate of Senator Conkling covered with a tissue like paper and his facsimile autograph. The remarks of several members of the legislature are recorded, followed by a lengthy memorial address by Robert G. Ingersoll. The book covers are black with an attractive gold wreath on the front cover. All pages are present and complete with only one blank page near the front showing a tear. There is a stamp on the inside of the front cover indicating that the book is compliments of JOHN S. KENYON, Clerk of the Senate 1888 -89.
