RCT027-RJBThe RoseCraft Blades Elk River Easy Open Jack Red Jigged Bone is a one-bladed pattern that features a 2.75” 14C28N lambsfoot blade with a brushed satin finish, a half-stop and heavy swedging. It has hand-jigged, vintage red jigged bone covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins, the diamonds shield and features an “easy open” slot to pinch and pull the blade open. It’s 3.5” closed, 6.25” overall, and weighs just 2.6oz. This pattern was inspired by a very old I-X-L pattern and re-imagined by Andy Armstrong.
A note about RoseCraft’s bone handles:Bone is a natural handle material that varies in texture, pattern, and natural coloring. Every bone handled knife will look different, because bone isn’t identical. At RoseCraft, we don’t use dye to cover up what we think is the natural beauty of the bone in the handle. We use it to accentuate that natural beauty, and this may cause lighter or darker areas where the bone is hafted into the front bolster. This is part of what makes your knife unique. Why 14C28N Steel?First and foremost, our customers asked for a stainless steel, and 14C28N fit that bill perfectly. It’s a stainless steel with high corrosion resistance which means you don’t have to be as careful about getting it completely dry like you might with D2. It also takes a very sharp edge and is easier to sharpen than other steels like D2.
