About the Artist:Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) is the flamboyant genius of Surrealism, an artist whose melting clocks, burning giraffes, and dreamlike deserts became the very image of the subconscious mind. Born in Figueres, Catalonia, and trained with academic rigor, he combined Renaissance-level technique with what he called the \"paranoiac-critical method,\" conjuring hallucinatory visions rendered in meticulous detail. With his upturned mustache and theatrical persona, Dalí made himself as famous as his art, collaborating with Hitchcock and Disney, designing for ballet and fashion, and ensuring that Surrealism reached every corner of popular culture. His masterworks hang in MoMA, the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, and the Salvador Dalí Museum in Florida.Dalí was also among the most prolific printmakers of the twentieth century, producing thousands of lithographs, etchings, and illustrated books across his long career, from the Divine Comedy to Alice in Wonderland.
