I purchased the book new at the event and met Mr. Abbey personally during the signing. The inscription is datedDecember 4, 1988, the year this edition was published.

After the signing, I carefully placed the book on my collector’s shelf, where it has remained ever since. The original dust jacket is bright and attractive and has been protected in a clear archival cover.

Desert Solitaireis one of the great classics of American nature writing and Western literature. Signed copies of Edward Abbey’s work are increasingly difficult to find, particularly those with documented provenance from the original owner and accompanied by original memorabilia from the signing event.

This is a remarkable collector’s copy that has remained in the same hands since it was purchased and signed in 1988.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description. The book and accompanying items shown are the exact ones you will receive.
