This listingis for sixth plate daguerreotype of a very well-dressed distinguished man. Theunusual columnar-style mat sits behind double thick glass. The plate is inexcellent condition. He is housed in a Farmer’s Dream (Apple Picker) UnionCase, Berg 1-93, with the same design on both the obverse and reverse. Overallthe case is in good condition. The motif shows the usual wear on the high partof the tree trunk. There is a corner chip on the lower right of the obverse anda chip at the clasp.
A Noteabout Condition. I leave cases and images in their “as-found” condition. I donot attempt to repair cases. If original seals are present on an image I willnot disturb them. If an image is unsealed, I will clean the cover glass ifnecessary but I do not attempt to clean the images themselves.
