Sony CDP-CA7ES 5-disc CD changer from Sony’s ES series. Includes the correct Sony RM-D335 remote control shown in the photos.
This unit was extensively tested and is working well overall. It successfully read and played multiple commercial CDs, changed between discs quickly, and played cleanly through both the analog RCA outputs and the optical digital output. The front headphone jack and headphone level control were also tested and worked properly with clear stereo output and no crackling or dropout.
Functions tested include disc selection, DISC SKIP, EX-CHANGE, Play/Pause/Stop, track skip, fast forward/reverse search, direct numeric track selection including >10, TIME display modes, Repeat/Repeat 1, Shuffle, Program/Clear, Music Scan, Fader, 1 Disc/All Discs modes, headphone output, analog RCA output, optical digital output, and remote operation.
Important condition note: When first testing the unit, the disc tray intermittently opened and then immediately closed again rather than remaining open. This occurred several times and at one point required multiple attempts before the tray stayed open. After cycling the mechanism several times, the tray began operating normally and subsequently completed multiple open/close cycles without further trouble during the remainder of testing. This behavior is being disclosed because it may recur and the unit may eventually need cleaning, adjustment, or service to the loading mechanism.
One CD used during testing produced skipping and an unusual mechanical/servo-type sound in several tracks. Other CDs were then tested across multiple track positions and played normally without reproducing the issue, indicating that particular problem appeared to be disc-specific.
Cosmetic condition is as shown in the photos. Please review all photos closely for scratches, scuffs, dust, and other signs of age/use.
Included: Sony CDP-CA7ES CD changer and Sony RM-D335 remote. CDs, receiver, cables, and headphones used for testing are not included.
