Stunning Fukagawa Seiji Porcelain Vase <ZQ35IST>
Superb Japanese porcelain vase featuring design of palm leafs.
The gently rounded, almost globular form gives the piece a warm and endearing presence despite its compact size.
The base bears the characteristic “Mt. Fuji and flowing water” style mark associated with Fukagawa Seiji, one of the most respected porcelain kilns in Arita.
Fukagawa Seiji was founded in 1894 by Fukagawa Chuji in Arita, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain. Its trademark, the “Mt. Fuji and flowing water” mark, symbolizes the company’s pursuit of excellence and has been used since its establishment. The kiln became an official purveyor to the Imperial Household in 1910 and gained international recognition through world exhibitions.
Based on the mark and style, this piece can be attributed to Fukagawa Seiji, likely dating to the Showa period.
Despite its small size, it has a refined and elegant presence—perfect for display or a small seasonal arrangement.
