Removed from a 1959 Beechcraft K35 Bonanza equipped with a Continental IO-470-C engine after the starter stopped operating. The drive turns freely by hand and is not frozen or seized. No further troubleshooting or electrical bench testing has been performed, so the cause of failure is unknown.
