This antique stereoscopic view card features “The Gate” formation at Garden of the Gods in Colorado, photographed by Chas. Weitfle of Central City, Colorado. The image shows the dramatic sandstone rock towers forming a natural gateway, with the distant Rocky Mountains and Pike’s Peak visible in the background. The stereoscopic format allowed viewers in the late 19th century to see the scene in three-dimensional depth using a stereoscope.

The reverse of the card identifies it as part of “Stereoscopic Views of Colorado Scenery” and describes several well-known formations in the Garden of the Gods and Glen Eyrie area. The card also highlights that photographer Charles Weitfle received awards for his Colorado photographic views and produced over 300 different scenes.
