The Spectra Precision LL300N is a complete grade-checking outfit that works the day it arrives — nothing else to buy, nothing to source separately. It pairs the LL300N rotary laser with the HL450 digital readout receiver with its C45 clamp, the RC601 remote and the Q104234 rechargeable pack, in the hard case that protects the laser — the outfit for a crew that already has a rod and a tripod on the truck.
Accuracy is 3/32-inch at 100 feet, and the laser transmits across a 1,650-foot diameter — with the HL450 in this kit you will reliably pick it up to around 1,300 feet. That covers the work most crews actually do: setting and checking elevations, concrete forms, footings and foundations, excavation and cut-and-fill, septic and drainage, driveways, ramps and pads. One person sets grade and keeps working.
The housing is built to be dropped, because it will be. A “hard hat” rotor guard shields the spinning head, and the unit is rated to survive a 3-foot drop straight onto concrete or a 5-foot fall when the tripod goes over. Spectra are clear about what to do next, and so are we: after any drop, re-check the leveling accuracy before you carry on — the procedure is in the user guide, two walls 65 ft apart and four readings. Sealed to IP66, it shrugs off rain, dust and washdown. That is fewer trips to the repair bench and a laser that is still worth something in five years — which is exactly how long Spectra warrant it.
Self-leveling is fully automatic and takes about thirty seconds, and the four D-cell alkaline batteries in the box run it for 90 hours. Slope is available but it is worth being precise about: with the optional RC601 remote you get single cross-axis manual slope while the other axis keeps self-leveling — enough for driveways, ramps and basic grade matching.
