This knife is my version of a paratrooper\'s fixed blade combat knife.The design is loosely based on the M3 paratrooper\'s knife, but has a slightly shorter and thicker blade.This makes it easier to handle and more durable. It has a5160 carbon steel bayonet point blade and an encapsulated tang. The knife has a well-balanced feel. This one has theclassic \"tootsie roll\"stacked leather handle andsteel furniture. This provides a secure and safe grip. It has an overall blued finish. The knife comes with a WW2 style jump sheath.
These knives are made for hard use. I make the blades the handles and the sheaths myself. They are not stainless. They are carbon steel and thus, will stain and need to be oiled and maintained. However, they will hold an edge better than most types of stainless steel. I make the blades one or two at a time, hand-grind, differentially harden and carefully temper them. This knife, like all my knives, comes with a welted cowhide sheath that is stitched by hand with a true saddle stitch. These are old-school, tough-as-nails knives. No frills, no nonsense.
