Step into the earliest era of computer education with this incredibly rare 1967 DIDO – Data In / Data Out board game, produced by Crowell Collier and Macmillan. Designed as a hands-on teaching tool to demonstrate how computers process information, this set simulates a full “Central Processing Unit” using instruction cards, order cards, tally sheets, reject cards, count cards, and work areas. DIDO is referenced only in a few archival sources and was never widely distributed, making surviving copies unheard of—especially in complete, intact condition. This may be the only known existing example left in the world.
This set includes everything shown: original box, CPU board, trays, and all card types sorted into their original compartments. The included instruction sheet inside the box lid clearly explains gameplay and operation. All components appear original and well-preserved, with the kind of authentic wear expected from a genuine 1960s educational product. Condition has been photographed carefully so buyers can see exactly what they are getting.
For collectors of early computing history, vintage educational materials, rare board games, or mid-century instructional design, this is a museum-worthy piece. Items of this era that directly reference computer logic and data-flow concepts almost never surface—let alone complete. This is a unique opportunity to own a true artifact from the dawn of modern computing.
