VERY RARE, MINT, HUGE MCM \"YELLOW SUNFLOWER\" ROOKWOOD COCKTAIL MIXER DATED 1948 For Sale

This enormous, Midcentury Modern cocktail mixer has been in my personal collection since the early 1990s. Unable to find any information of this Rookwood item, I reached out to Rookwood expert, Riley Humler in 2017. His comment, \"there may be more of these out there, but in 40 years, I have not seen another. Mr. Humler was kind enough to verify the following:
01. It is indeed made by Rookwood Pottery (1880-present) of Cincinnati, Ohio ( (RP logo signature on bottom as shown).02. The Roman numerals (XXVIII) indicate that is was made in 1948.03. The \"S\" or \"5\" on the bottom is of no significance – it is likely a job number.04. The four-digit number \"6979\" indicates its shape. The Rookwood glaze is \"Canary Yellow\".05. The yellow color and \"petal\" pattern encircling the mixer\'s bottom alludes, perhaps, to a sunflower theme.06. With no signature, it is difficult to determine the designer of the pattern, or the mixer.
The mixer is in immaculate condition – with characteristic Rookwood bright color and gloss glaze still fully intact.
Impressively sized at 11.5\" tall and 5.75\" (widest) / 3.5\" (base).
