CONDITION IS DESCRIBED BELOW!VINTAGE 1995 IBM MODEL M PC KEYBOARD PS/2 06-SEP-95 P/N 82G3295 FRUTEST BY LEXMARKThis listing is for ONE VINTAGE 1995 IBM MODEL M PC PS/2 KEYBOARD, P/N 82G3295, FRU P/N 07H0666, with manufacture date 06-SEP-95 and PS/2 connector (NOT DIN). I personally stored away this spare keyboard for about three decades in a carefully packed bin at the back of a closet. While I cannot guarantee that I never used it for a short time way back then, I do remember using a different keyboard for many years during that timeframe so therefore not this one, and it does look very good and barely used to me. (But please make your own judgement by viewing the many provided photos. And zoom in!) Having been wrapped carefully, it did not even need to be cleaned; what you see in the attached photos is exactly the way it came out of storage. Unfortunately though there is one issue with it -- the outer jacket of the cable has stiffened and cracked over time, and can be clearly seen in the photos. And it seems pretty obvious that it will keep cracking off more. However, the wires inside the cable still appear intact, and I did connect the keyboard to test it before listing for sale, and all the keys work and feel as amazing as IBM Model M keyboards did back when they were still being produced. Every key cover/cap is in place, as are the two retractable legs/feet and rubber pads. If I were to keep it, I would probably install a new cable to replace the one that is cracking. But since I'm not, I've decided to list it appropriately for a quick sale. I imagine the person who chooses to buy it will probably also choose to replace the cable. Because of the cracking cable issue, it is being being sold as-is for parts only. Please note that many other of these keyboards made during the same time period also exhibit cracking cables so it must have been something about the way they were made.
