period when the South Pacific was romanticized
in the arts!Painted on silk, this hyper-vibrant painting
captures colors that are almost surreal!
Art (advertising art in particular) in this period
experimented with new inks and paints and these
new pigments were around for only a few years before
being replaced by new ones.This makes this piece all the more sensational
because even today, recreating a work like
this would be impossible because the paints don\'t
exist anymore.After WWII many soldiers that served in the Pacific became
enamored by Asia and the contrasts with the US.
