Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible piece of wartime fashion history. This authentic 1940's Coro Craft sterling silver crown brooch features a stunning regal design. The front showcases a prominent, vibrant marquise-cut faux ruby centerpiece, topped with a rich emerald green rhinestone accent. The crown body is encrusted with brilliant clear rhinestones and anchored by a beautiful row of faux sapphire baguettes along the base band, 1 of which is missing.This Large Crown Pin measures approximately 2 1/8" Long x 2" wide...Because base metals were restricted for the war effort in the mid-1940s, Coro upgraded their luxury line to sterling silver, making pieces from this specific Pegasus era highly prized by collectors.Condition Report:

• Metal:Excellent vintage condition. The sterling silver structure is sound, and the gold vermeil wash remains beautifully bright on both the front and reverse with only some minor vintage patina.
• Stones:All rhinestones are intact and securely set. Stones retain great color and sparkle for their age, except for the 1 missing sapphire rhinestone along the base as shown.
• Mechanism:The original horizontal pin stem and safety clasp are present, straight, and in fully functional locking condition.
• Official Patent InformationThis exact piece was designed by Coro's legendary chief designer,Adolph Katz. The original application was filed and issued inOctober 1944.
