Vintage Fred Keeling / Keeling-style wood fishing lure marked “PAT APPD FOR” on the metal keel hardware. This early antique lure features a red and gold painted wood body with attached metal diving/keel hardware and treble hooks. A2
The “PAT APPD FOR” marking indicates this is an early pre-patent version of the Keeling wood lure. Based on the patent-applied-for marking and known Keeling lure history, this piece is believed to date to around 1919–1920, making it approximately 100+ years old.
Condition is pre-owned antique with age-related wear throughout. There is paint loss, scuffing, scratches, finish wear, tarnish to the metal hardware, and oxidation/wear on the hooks. Please review all photos closely for exact condition, markings, color, size, and details.
