Up for sale is a stunning, heavily embossed vintage Italian white glazed ceramic soup tureen set. Perfect as a dramatic Hollywood Regency sideboard display or an elegant Palm Beach chic dining centerpiece, this mid-century period piece features a gorgeous three-dimensional conch shell finial knob on the lid and wide, fan-shaped scallop shells acting as the handles on the main bowl. This exact sculptural form is widely attributed to Mottahedeh’s mid-century Italian luxury imports. The set is crafted using traditional Italian Faience techniques (tin-glazed earthenware), giving the ceramic a deep, milky-white glaze finish that radiates beautifully under dining room lighting. The bottom of the ladle and the bottom of the bowl feature the authentic incised/stamped marking: "MADE IN ITALY".
