My Mother has always had a love for jewelry and a good eye/ear for it too...So, back in 1975 she learned of a small event featuring Native Jewelry. She purchased a few items and this classic piece featuring a beautiful 17mmx11mm oval Royston Turquoise stone. This necklace features Silver Pearls (8mm) and Silver Torpedoes or ovals (6mm) and a sturdy, hand-wrought Naja with a traditional, designed bezel.
The Royston Turquoise stone was mined in the Tonapah, NV area where a few mines operated. Royston Royal Blue was a common name being that most of the turquoise in the area came from that one mine. The name is fitting as this stone has a ROYAL tone of Blue and the matrix is captivating for a small stone. I see a few dark Green/Black webs as well.
