• Most devices have a surge (when first turn on) much higher than the operating amp rating. E.g, a motor with a 20 amp rating may have over 20 amp surge, and you will need a more powerful transformer.
• It requires an AC input and the output is also AC, providing an AC power supply.
• The inductive load that the ac variable transformer represents is not compatible with most GFI circuits and they will trip the breaker. Not equipped with an isolated transformer.
• The lower the output voltage regulation, the smaller the output power and the smaller the load power.
