Rare 7” Antique Frozen Charlotte Doll Covered Wagon Hair c.1850s
An exceptional early Frozen Charlotte, measuring approximately 7 inches tall, with the desirable molded covered wagon hairstyle. Dating to circa the 1850s, she is a particularly impressive example at this size—the first I have personally had from this early period that is this large.
She has a lovely painted face with rosy cheeks, delicate brows, and a small red mouth. Her black molded hair frames her face beautifully, and her substantial, rounded body gives her wonderful presence. The glossy white porcelain contrasts beautifully with her dark hair.
A special piece for a collector of early china dolls or unusual Frozen Charlottes.

Condition
Overall very good antique condition, with no chips, cracks, or structural repairs observed. There are scattered manufacturing and firing flaws, firing marks, and some rubbing to the painted cheeks.
The black paint at the back of her head may have been touched up; I cannot confirm this. Part of the hair at the back has an unglazed or matte appearance. These details are disclosed for accuracy and do not detract from her lovely display.
