It was written from 1761 to 1762 and published in 1766.
This hardcover (no Dust jacket) edition from
The Mershon Company (New York) is Undated, but was likely printed in the late 1800s. The Mershon publishing action really started in 1899 when the company copyrighted a number of titles and started publishing. It is possible this is a \"First Edition Thus\" from this publisher. The Mershon Company seems to have been a budget-conscious publisher, as the decoration on this cover is also found on other titles thatbMershon published around the same time.
This book has red cloth covered boards with
decorations and the title in black on the cover and spine. Pages are still
intact. Pages are moderately tanned from age.
