Antique gold lavaliere necklace in an Art Nouveau / early Edwardian style, circa 1895–1910.
A fine 10 k yellow-gold chain supports a central openwork foliate plaque of scrolling leaves. The plaque is accented with seed pearls and a small flower-set pink stone. From the base hangs an articulated drop with a larger round-faceted pink stone in a pronged, leaf-framed setting. The design is dainty and typical of turn-of-the-century gold lavalieres made for everyday and dress wear. 16” necklace length, center drop is 1”.
Stones Faceted pink stones and seed pearls. A photo review by Unvault suggested pink tourmaline. My grandmother who passed this down to my mother and then to me always told me this. The stones have not been gemologically tested, so they are offered as unidentified pink stones. Seed pearls appear original to the piece; please judge luster and condition from the photos.
Metalmarked 10k on clasp
