The door features the iconic "Flying Eagle" design, dating back to around the 1920s. It is cast in solid metal with a wonderful, genuine, aged patina. It features a bright red glass window showcasing the original box number: 762.
Unlike typical coin banks, this piece was built without a top slot, allowing it to function as a solid, secure desktop safe or jewelry/trinket box.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The wooden housing is beautifully crafted (most likely solid oak) with clean mitered edges and a smooth finish.
Functionality: Fully operational! The single-dial lock turns smoothly, clicks cleanly, and the working combination is shown on the picture of the paper that was presented in 1988 when this was given as a gift.
